Irish Glow Dahlia Tuber
Irish Glow Dahlia Tuber
Couldn't load pickup availability
Form: Pom
Height in our field is about: 3-4 ft
Bloom size is approximately: 1 inches
Color: Red with some orange and yellow
Notes: This beautiful Pom has variety in color over the season, mostly red but with some orange/yellow mixed in too. So much fun in arrangements, with sturdy stems compared to other poms we've grown.
PLEASE READ (fine print):
Each listing is for 1 tuber with at least one eye. Tubers may come in all different shapes, sizes, and appearances , but we take great care to only sell and ship tubers that we deem viable and would be happy to receive ourselves. All tubers you receive will have a body (firm, with some give, but not mushy), intact neck, at least one visible or sprouting eye, and will be larger than the size of a AA battery. Though still often just as viable, we try to keep only the smallest and "ugliest" ones for ourselves, but please keep in mind that tubers are inherently ugly as they function primarily as underground root systems in service of making beautiful blooms. Some tubers may have: peeling skin, minor body damage from digging, dirt stains/discoloration, etc., but are guaranteed to feature the attributes mentioned above needed for viability (a body, eye/sprout, and intact neck). If a tuber has a sprout that breaks off in transit, a new sprout will grow next to it.
We sanitize between plants while harvesting blooms with a 10% bleach solution for at least 10 minutes while rotating our snips, and always sanitize between tuber dividing and all season long we monitor our fields for unhealthy looking plants and pull them immediately. There is no way to always remain disease free (bugs, etc.) but we are always learning better practices and methods to keep our plants as healthy as possible.
We do not do virus testing, but do immediately dispose of anything suspicious, as you can see from a few missing spots in our fields. Order at your own risk.
If for any reason we cannot fulfill any item in your order, we will either refund you and email you asking if you would like it replaced with anything else we still have in stock or would like a refund, please respond within 48 hours if you would like a replacement, if we don’t hear back we will proceed with refund and ship the rest of your order.
SHIPPING:
FALL: we will be digging and dividing in October & November, will start shipping when we have all tubers from an order divided, please only order from us in the fall if you are somewhere warm planting immediately, or have lots of experience storing over winter. Winter storage is your responsibility.
SPRING: We are planning on shipping starting the first week of April depending on weather (it is up to you to let us know the weather in your area if you need your shipping delayed). We will be shipping in order of grow zones warmest to coldest unless we hear from you otherwise.
If you would like earlier shipping, please feel free to email us at: wrenstems@gmail.com. We would be happy to try to find a warm window of time, just let us know. If weather looks safe on both ends, we will send.
We also will be happy to combine shipping for any secondary orders and after a restock, again just email us and let us know and select "pickup" when checking out secondary order. Order must have not already shipped, and you must email us to confirm.
LOCAL PICKUP:
We are located about 15 minutes North of Ann Arbor, Michigan. We will have pickup available May 1-9, email us to coordinate a time and we will have them for porch pickup. Here in zone 6a it is not recommended to plant dahlias until after the last frost, usually the second week of May.
ISSUES:
If you have any issue at all with your order please email us immediately (within 48 hours of delivery time stamp of package) and we will absolutely make it right. Please allow us the chance to fix the issue before posting to social media.
Mislabels also can happen, though we make every attempt to prevent this. We keep everything as organized and labeled as possible and anything we aren't certain of will be labeled a mystery tuber. Please let us know of any mislabels and we will either refund or replace the next season (if it is a variety we are still growing).
THANK YOU
